The Challenges of Building East Africa More than three years after the launch of the Kenya
Scenarios Project, the project outcomes are still subject of discussion. In a commentary published in the East African Standard on 17th June 2003, Otsieno Nyamwaya looks at the Kenya Scenarios and compares them with

The Promise of a Generation - the Kenya Vision Project... In response to the challenges posed
by the Kenya Scenarios, a group of young people came together to imagine what sort of future Kenya should work towards. If the scenarios were about the future we might have to face - whether we like it or not - what sort future
then do we want to work towards? Their work is presented as 'The Promise of a Generation' and you can visit their website here.
Roadshow comes to an end A core objective of the Kenya Scenarios Project was to provoke debate
on options for the future that the country could work towards. As such, between February and June 2001
over 120 interactive theatre presentations were made all over the country using the IPCET - Interactive Participatory Community Education Theatre - methodology. IPCET works by creating an atmosphere in which the participants are able to observe critically and examine issues without feelings of partisanship. The project was able to organize these presentations thanks to the collaboration of various organizations - NGOs, youth, church and women's groups amongst others.
