About the Vision

The vision that is presented on this website is a response to the reality that is Kenya.The team begun its work conscious that the political and economic models being pursued has reached their limits. The evidence of this fact is to be seen in the political and social crises that have been rocking the country in the recent past. Poverty, intolerance and exclusion at all levels of society are also indicators of the bankruptcy of the current models.

The Process

This project is a direct off-shoot and follow-up of the Kenya Scenarios Project. Over 50 young Kenyans were involved in a series of workshops (Naro Moru, Nairobi and Bogoria) to define the vision. Several informal working group sessions and consultations were also convened in between the workshops.

The vision presented on this site has benefited from a wide consultative process that has involved people from different backgrounds, experiences and generations. Their input has helped improve the final product

Objectives of the Vision

The project team, in presenting their vision of Kenya seek to challenge their compatriots to engage in a process that will:

  • Provide a forum and a tool for dialogue on important topical issues and sustain the debate;
  • Engage all Kenyans in seeking unity of purpose;
  • Stimulate positive change in citizens and leaders alike;
  • Provide leadership;
  • Provide benchmarks along which we, as Kenyans, can measure our progress.
